CMC Networks Launches Air Connect: Wireless Revolution

Experience seamless, rapid, and dependable connectivity empowering businesses throughout South Africa to thrive
March 27, 2024

CMC Networks has introduced Air Connect, a cutting-edge solution designed to provide fast, secure, and reliable wireless connectivity to businesses operating in some of South Africa's most rugged landscapes. This innovative Wireless to the Business (WTTB) solution promises to bolster business continuity and ensure seamless operations, regardless of the geographical challenges.

Air Connect leverages radio waves to deliver robust connectivity across diverse landscapes, including remote farmlands, arid deserts, and challenging terrains. By harnessing wireless technology, Air Connect eliminates the constraints, complexities, and lengthy deployment periods associated with traditional wired connections like fiber optics. With flexible speed options ranging from 5Mbps to 500Mbps+, Air Connect caters to the specific needs of businesses, offering scalable and high-speed connectivity solutions.

Marisa Trisolino, CEO at CMC Networks, expressed excitement about Air Connect, hailing it as a game-changer for businesses in South Africa. She emphasized the solution's role in facilitating digital transformation across the continent, providing customers with a wider array of connectivity options to fortify their networks and ensure uninterrupted operations, regardless of the circumstances.

One of the key advantages of Air Connect is its rapid deployment capability, with a service level objective (SLO) of 3 to 10 days. This swift installation process proves invaluable for businesses awaiting fiber optic infrastructure, offering a temporary yet robust connectivity solution to minimize network downtime. Furthermore, Air Connect seamlessly integrates into software-defined wide-area network (SD-WAN) overlay deployments, serving as an active backup to enhance network resilience, redundancy, and uptime.

Geoff Dornan, CTO at CMC Networks, underscored Air Connect's scalability and versatility, emphasizing its ability to cater to diverse business requirements. By continually expanding their portfolio, CMC Networks aims to empower customers to achieve their business objectives without being hindered by connectivity constraints.

With over three decades of innovation in Africa and an extensive network spanning across 51 out of 54 African countries and 12 countries in the Middle East, CMC Networks reaffirms its commitment to driving connectivity advancements and facilitating digital transformation across the region.
